Domain Discoveries #3: So Many Authoritative Medical Domains + Some Great Buildout Names

the best domains going to auction in the next week.

Hello hello,

It’s been a little while!

That’s my bad.

My state flooded. Zerp. We got about 5-6 inches of rain where I live and it fucked up all the roads and flooded Montpelier and knocked out our power. So I didn’t send that week.

And last week I was at a convention for the first time since I went to NamesCon in Jan 2020—I was at Readercon in Boston promoting my small sci-fi/fantasy press and my death magazine, so I didn’t send then either.

I’M BACK THOUGH.

And I’ve got some cool-ass domains to share with you. But first:

News and Updates

1. Anxiety.org sold for $100k last week.

The broker, Dave from Sedo, says that my assumption that it included the fully built out site with the sale was incorrect. He didn’t comment further, but I see now that the site that used to be there is gone, and a new site with content dating only to mid-July 2023 is on the site, so clearly the site wasn’t included (which is nuts! What is the old owner doing with it?)

It’s a DR 72, ranking for +20k keywords. A great domain that I’m sure will do super well in the SERPs (and if YOU are in the market for a medical aged domain, I’ve got good news, as there are SEVERAL absolute powerhouses in my newsletter this week.

2. A DR 74 site in the HTML/Dev space is for sale.

I’m running point on it.

Not ranking for any KWs, but there’s a site on it. Huge authority in the tech/coding space. Looking for $29k, but price is a little flexible. Look at these referring domains:

Hit reply and LMK if you’re interested (and you have the budget) and I’ll shoot you the URL.

Would make a FIRE EMOJI programmatic SEO play with that kind of authority.

3 Do you need some SEO help? I have SEO help to give

I posted on Twitter but might as well post in my domain email as well.

I’m looking to take on some SEO work. If you’re doing some cool shit I’m possibly open to picking up a job job, hit reply and LMK what you’ve got.

If you’re just looking for a one-off consulting call OR you’d just like someone with some Napoleon Dynamite-esque SEO skillz-with-a-Z to advise you, I offer a “fractional director of SEO” service that won’t make your wallet cry TOO hard.

I’ll have a page for this eventually, but no need to be so formal, we’re all friends here! Just hit reply and we can start a conversation.

Now on to the domains…

Domain of the Week

BlurtItOut.org

DR 64, 2.2k RD

Ranking for 9000(!!!) keywords

Used to be: the website for a charity(ish) site about depression?

I rarely see an expiring domain ranking for this many keywords as it wraps up its auction run.

It makes sense if you look at the kind of traffic it used to rank for before expiring:

The “Blurt It Out” social media accounts boast 160k followers on Facebook and 252k followers on Instagram. If you end up winning this, I don’t know how feasible getting control of those accounts are, but if you end up doing that I hope you use your powers for good.

Price: just under $10k with a little over a day left.

GIGANTIC medical-related authority: if it goes for under $20k it’s a steal IMO…

Terrible name though, you’ll want to rebrand that shit.

Are you tired of trying to bid on a sweet domain with Juice at an expired auction and losing?

Take the uncertainty out of acquiring an aged domain by picking one up at Odys.Global.

The #1 aged domain marketplace, they've got domains starting at a few hundred bucks all the way to tens of thousands for premium names. They are very strict about the names they post, this is a strongly-curated marketplace.

Other Domains With Juice

ECronicon.com

DR 63, 2.83k RD

Here is the site title from looking at Ahrefs lol:

Open Access | Scientific Publications : Online Publications : Medical Journals : Dental Science : Nutrition : Microbiology : Orthopaedics :Ophthalmology : Neurology : Gynaecology : Paediatrics : Pharmacology and Toxicology : Psychology and Psychiatry : Gastroenterology and Digestive System : Cardiology : Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine

So anyway, another site with some big medical authority:

Currently under $5k with 7 days left.

If this goes for under $10k HUGE win. I bet it won’t though. Insane authority.

OuterPlaces.com

DR 55, 3.6k RD

Used to be:

Outerplaces.com is a media/entertainment destination at the dynamic intersection where science meets science fiction. Outer Places creates and curates news, interviews, reviews and user-generated content from across the worlds of science and science fiction.

Currently has a $15k+ bid with more than six days to go.

Decent brand, and really interesting topic. I would 100% just rebuild the same kind of site on it and live the dream of writing about science and science fiction on a very powerful domain with a great name.

The only problem: lack of funding!

Feel free to buy this for me as a gift, it’s on my wishlist.

Do Not Buy NCIFAP.org or SmartFin.org For Their SEO

They have both been spammed pretty bad.

CasinoJournal.com

DR 47, 988 RD

Very rare to see such a nice gambling brand with juice come through the expiration path.

Lots of niche-relevant referring domains are helping this auction reach $20k (currently) and probably goes for much more a few days from now…

PathwayMedicine.org

DR 38, 899 RD

Ranking for: 12,400 keywords !!!!!!

This is the deal of the week if the price stays low. Look at all the medical keywords this thing is CURRENTLY ranking for, as it expires:

Absolutely ridiculous.

Turn this site into a supplement or CBD or some other profitable health-related site and just print money like the U.S. government.

Do your own diligence, I am not your broker, but god damn, this is a money site waiting to money.

Currently around $2k with ONE DAY left.

Domains You Could Build A Business On

ReadyToLearn.com

Solid 3-word brand. Could be a resource site for school-aged children, an online learning platform, a “which college should I attend” kind of site—super tough niche, all, but $$$.

VeganKitchen.com

Pretty much a 10/10 brand for a vegan restaurant or recipe site. Or a food delivery service that’s all vegan, but those keep dying so probably skip that idea…

TheCinema.com

The CineMAH.

A great name for a movie-focused site. Better brand than Rotten Tomatoes IMO, but a bit generic too…

CommercialElectrician.com

Boring, generic, but you know exactly what you’re getting when you visit this site. Would make a great buildout.

Workcation.com

As you know, everybody loves to work while on their vacation!

But seriously, a lot of people do it (am so guilty).

Could build a really fun brand on this.

EverythingSports.com

Great brand for, uhm, everything sports. Seriously, a super tough niche, but the traffic possibilities are ginormous. EVERYONE wants to read about sports. There are some site out there low key doing millions of visits a month just writing super passionately about the tiniest corners of the sports world.

Another great buildout opportunity.

Domains You Could Invest In

SquareX.com

Not many on the list this week I saw that I was like “damn someone could invest in that!”

This one is the closest I came. I own a few different “X-at-the-end” keyword domains, so I would like to see this sell for a ton of money and then also everybody be like hey I would like to buy your X-at-the-end keyword domains for $100k each.

Manifesting this shit LET’S GO.

Shitpost Of The Week

Saw this in a slack group I’m in. 10/10

Well, that’s it!

Thanks for reading.

I always love to hear from readers—did you love this? Holla!

And if you need some SEO help or if you’re hiring (especially if you’re in the domain space), hit reply and LMK what’s up. I have some availability to do cool shit and earn some dollar bills.

Until next week…
